Plumb-Tech

Just a little story about a company called Plumb-Tech in Springfield Tennessee. DON'T use them!

1st I get an estimate for laying a new water line (they didn't bother to write it - it was only verbal). I dealt with a man who I thought was the owner or at least a rep that had authority. I later learned that he didn't own it and was only a worker bee. The estimate was good but I kept telling him not to begin work until my refinance came through so that I knew the money was in the bank to pay them with. I asked about bedding the pipe in sand before throwing the rocky dirt back on top of it. He said it wouldn't be a bad idea. I told him to get me an estimate and I would see if my husband and I wanted to spend the extra money. Next thing I know, they are DIGGING!!! Without our permission AND, to make matters worse! They delivered sand AND a bobcat to spread it with AND an extra 8 hours of labor in addition to sand and bobcat costs - this drives my original estimate up by an additional $1,200!!!!! The owner, Amy basically says she's sorry but her guy told her I wanted it and she ordered it. I refused to pay and then later agreed to pay half since I felt it the sand was benefit to me and that if he had quoted me $600 I would have said to go ahead (at this point I'm doing her a favor or she'd be out the rental for the bobcat, the sand cost and labor cost). If they had given me an estimate for that $1,200 price I would have refused the sand! The purpose of the new water line was to elimate all of the black pipe old water line. I explained this to the man giving the estimate on the front end. I also told him I needed a pressure regulator put on the line which he gave to me in the original estimate. The bill came and the regulator was added to it as not a part of the original estimate. Then they didn't replace ALL of the black water line - they left the part in that attached to the water meter and they left the part in that runs under my walkway into my house - they just attached the new water line to the old in those spots. I called her and was told that if I wanted all the water line replaced, she would have to charge me extra labor. It was understood between myself and her laison that all the black pipe would be removed. Then when I griped, her other worker bee told my husband and my dad that they would give a 10 year guarantee on the black pipe that was left. When I heard of this, I immediately faxed her my understanding of this 10 year guarantee, which, by the way, was given verbally in front of two people at least if not more. She immediately called me and told me that he was wrong - he must have misunderstood her - there is no guarantee on the black pipe they left in the ground. Then, her boys found that the water meter was leaking and had to call the city to come and replace it. Instead of leaving and finding something else to do on their own, they stood around the whole day, waiting on the city and charged me an ADDITIONAL 8 HOURS LABOR FOR NOTHING!!!!!!!! My bill was $600 plus higher because I agreed to pay half for their error in delivering the sand and incurring all that debt - and then, to thank me for agreeing to pay half, she bills me for her men standing around doing nothing at an addition $255! The yard is trashed, they ruined my lilac bush, they didn't put the outside pump where I asked them to, the neighbor's yard is trashed, bumpy, uneven, they left a pipe sticking up out of the ground and had to be told to come and remove it... BUYER BEWARE This company may bid low, but they are not worth it LIES...all LIES!
